Micro music system

This is a superb radio/music hi-fi system. The compact system does not lessen the rich base sound produced and is powerful enough (20watts) to provide any party with loud enough sound. The dual dock will hold any Apply I-phone or I-pad or MP3 player. The remote control works like a charm with no learning-curve for us dummies. The CD player (again, for us oldies with a CD collection) is faultless.

every thing was working when I bought new. model philips dcb2270/10 but after a couple of months the dock stoped picking up phones - pads the dock ses no phone-pad and no charging as it use to charge while playing music. I have tried resetting the system by removing power for 24 hours. I've tried putting my phone on the dock then turned on the dock. the dock turns on & starts my I-phone but ses no phone-pad I've tried resetting phone and I-pad. still no go. with dock. what's happened to it. I hope its not a big prob. any help would be great. THANKS. Victor.

This unit is great, Radio including DAB, CD, iPod or iPad, Clock alarm what more can you ask for. Sound is great easy to use and even has a remote.

Took delivery today - took me 1 hour to set up, very easy. DAB reception is good & I was able to set all my favourite pre set stations without referring to the instructions. Have played music from my iPhone 4S and old iPad with no trouble and am now playing a CD. Also no trouble setting the clock. The sound is really nice and it looks good and doesn't take up too much room (I have it on a kitchen bench). Sound is so much better than my old DAB radio. I highly recommend.

I was hesitant when buying this dock as some reviews have reported charging issues, well I took the plunge and was not disappointed, the charging issue is NO where to be seen. Sound quality is good, quite a bit above most docks, Yes top end docks can and do offer better sound but at HUGE money so an a bang for your buck this dock is great. Having CD and radio play options is also a plus. The included remote works well from many angles. Now the niggles. The display can NOT be set to display the clock while the unit is in use you can only get it to show briefly by pressing a button then it returns to the play mode, I would prefer to see the time than Ipod/Iphone, I know what device I am listening to but the time is something I can't keep track of as easily. There is also a good 30-40 second delay in being able to play from a "I" device when turning the unit on, you have to wait for it to "boot" for lack of a better term before your I device will play. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and the general quality is great, having both Apple connection options in the unit is a big plus as well.

Very good as it goes. I hope the iPad dock connection lasts - it does not seem to be very sturdy. It would be good if it were possible to rotate the iPad when docked so that one could watch videos or TV programs in landscape mode. Also, it's a pity that, when in USB mode, the display does not show file names so that a particular piece of music can be selected - not very helpful to be able to select file "001".

When iPod or iPad is docked, but not playing music. The docked device continuously switched between charging and not charging. Meaning it beeps or buzzes every time. Annoying!

Unit was going well however my CD is stuck inside and it won't eject, the unit doesn't recognise there is a CD inside either. Any suggestions how to get the CD out ?

I foolishly bought this after the previous version 'died' quite early (power supply failure). This is one of two Philips products I've had that have 'died' with power supply problems early in their life. Philips quality seems to be an issue. So far working ok but operates in strange ways - charging of IOS device can be flaky (comes on/off), clock only appears when IOS device is connected (otherwise forgets time).

The good: - Digital Radio - Design Aesthetic - Original 30 pin iPod / iPhone / iPad dock - Lighting iPod / iPhone / iPad dock The bad: - With the lighting dock, the iOS device keeps reconnecting and disconnecting, vibrating and making a beep everytime, meaning that you cannot use the speaker system as a charging dock, which was one of the main reasons I bought it. With old iPhones / iPads that use the 30 pin connector, this isn't a problem. It seems a simple firmware update would fix this. - When I contacted Phillips about the above issue they never responded to my query.
